Midges,  like caddis flies,  have four stages of metamorphosis. Egg, larvae, pupa, and adult. However the fisherman must be prepared with 5 basic patterns to successfully imitate the stage being eaten by the trout at the time. Midge larva, underwater pupa, floating pupa, still born adult midge hatching, and the adult on the surface ready to fly.

 They come in range of colors including, black, red, yellow, brown, green, olive, white and purple. We carry many of these colors in our store. Pro tied on chemically sharpened Dai-Riki hooks.
