Since it's appearence around the late 1970's, the Woolly Bugger has grown steadily in popularity and appeal. It is simple to tie, has unlimited variations and will catch nearly anything that's attracted to a moving bait.
Although often classified as a streamer, Woolly Bugger designs can also successfully mimic most large swimming nymphs as well as leeches. Woolly Buggers catch trout, bass, salmon---in both Atlantic and Pacific rivers, steelhead, Arctic char, northern pike, bass, bluegills and even carp. It would not be an exaggeration to say that there is hardly a fish that swims that could not be caught with a Woolly Bugger.
This is a weighted variation with medium steel dumbell eyes to get it down deep fast.
