Pistol Shrimp (sometimes called "snapping shrimp") are small crustaceans similar in appearance to crawfish. Getting their name from the popping sound they make with their pinchers. Jim Green, former biologist for the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, designed this fly for these shrimp found on old oyster shell on the Texas coast. Matagorda is on the central coast, and my favorite area for Reds. Available in our store,  Pro tied on sticky sharp Dai-Riki saltwater hooks in #2 and #4.
