Brassie Red -Caddis Larva- Nymph

Brassie Red -Caddis Larva- Nymph
SKU:

Caddis flies, sometimes called "sedges", like Midges  have four stages of metamorphosis. Egg, larvae, pupa, and adult. However the fisherman must be prepared with 6 basic patterns to successfully imitate the stage being eaten by the trout at the time.

Larva, emergent pupa, floating pupa, adult  hatching on the surface, adult on the surface ready to fly, and subsurface adult swimming and egg laying.

Caddis fly larvae, fall into two groups. The "case-building caddis", and the "free living". The former lives in a protective case constructed of sand, leaves or sticks. Some case builders attach themselves to rocks or logs, but both kinds from time to time let themselves drift freely in the current. The most prevalent drift times are before sunrize and after dark.

The Brassie is one of the all-time favorite patterns.

Pro tied on Mustad  hooks and available  in size 14, 16, 18, and 20, in copper and red.
