The "poxyback"  patterns were developed in the late 1980s by creative fly tyer Mike Mercer to be used as either impressionistic searching flies or as realistic imitations when matching the hatch.  Mercer designed these flies with realism and movement in mind; they've got ragged marabou gills, and cleverly epoxied wing pads that offer a striking underwater realism feeding trout just can’t ignore!  Pro tied on chemically sharpened Japanese Dai-Riki hooks.
