Dave's Hopper , a pattern obviously designed to mimic a grass hopper , and one of the most realistic presentations. I remember walking along the Nisqually River in Washington in the early seventies with a fly swatter in my back pocket used to kill grass hoppers for catching steelhead with a spining rod. When I fly fished, I used a hopper that I tied similar to these. These are proffessionally tied on Mustad hooks in size 6.
