The Birds Nest was designed by Cal Bird many years ago for catching Truckee River trout. Andy Burk, of the Reno Fly Shop, has helped to make these one of the top recommended flies for western rivers. These are tied using Andy's recipe. You can check it out if you Google "Burk's bird nest nymph". He has a You-tube video. They are lightly weighted on the hook shank with lead wire.
